Brine & Bag is an independent review site for home food-preservation supplies, the gear for vacuum sealing, dry long-term storage and fermenting. Nearly every well-ranked buying guide in this space is published by a store, whose picks are constrained to what it stocks. We are not a store; our wedge is independence and structure: an explicit, published scoring method applied the same way to everything.

Our theme is a simple, answerable question: how long does it actually last? We cover vacuum sealers and bags, jar sealers, mylar bags, oxygen absorbers, storage buckets and fermentation gear, and we answer shelf-life and cost questions with real numbers before we recommend anything. We deliberately do not give food-safety guarantees or medical claims; those belong with the USDA, the National Center for Home Food Preservation and university extension services.
